Hi
Lovelies -
Today I want to remind you to take the time to hear the sounds of life
that surrounds you.
You know the Rev and I have lived in many places over the last several
years and every region has its own sounds if we take the time to
acknowledge them.
I was born and raised in Central California, and being here over the
last year has evoked so many memories. The first thing that I
realized was how much I missed the sound of a screeching Blue Jay.
Well this morning as I lay in bed, I was amazed at the sounds
of
the birds and life echoing throughout the neighborhood. In fact, the
first thing Rev mentioned when he woke up was how cool it was to hear those birds. One of my favorite places was in Yuma Arizona. Rev calls me a lizard because I thrive in the
sunshine. But aside from the glorious weather and the most
beautiful sunsets, were the sounds of the birds (I think they are called
Grackles). Every morning I would wake to a bright sunny day
and
those birds that seemed to multiply around our bedroom window.
Well, moving to Newport Beach has blessed us with a whole new set of
sights and sounds…But all is lost is we do not take the time
to
hear.
I
once had a
friend who was praying for her husband whom had fallen back into a life
of sin. This friend prayed day and night, night and day and in doing
so, she simply forgot to breath. By this I mean that while we
are
to pray, we must then give it to God and in so doing, find our peace
knowing that we are heard. Well she spent 5 years living her life in a
constant state of panicked faith..which isn’t faith at
all.
But regardless, she missed out on life and the memories that could have
been, for what wasn’t.
HERE’S THE
NUGGET: Life
is more than pursuit; it is living and enjoying the gifts given you. Do
not squander time for the things of tomorrow. Your
Father knows tomorrow and the day; you know the moment and no
other. LIVE THE MOMENT.
